Why Women Need Strengthh Training

more than Men...

Seriously - this will change your life

It's a lot easier than you think

Jane Wake Top Tips

Your Muscles Contain the Cells

that affect your metabolic health most

That means stuff happens, only in your muscles, that has a knock on effect across all organs of the body

Knock on effect

From Your 30s Onwards...

your muscle mass, unless you work on it, starts to decline

• Declining with a 3-5% loss per decade

• At menopause this can double due to lowering hormones & lifestyle changes

Muscle mass loss

At the point in life where we are being told

• “Take it easy”

• “Don’t put pressure on your joints”

• “Keep it low”

We should infact be doing the complete opposite

This is compounded by a Traditional Focus on Cardio

BUT... Unlike men, our muscles are made more of fibres built for endurance

• This means we are already good at going long and slow

• So Cardio means less muscle stimuli and less positive change

Strength training however will stimulate the greatest change

And Women stand to gain more than Men!

• In fact research shows our strength increases at equal rates, even though we have less muscle to play with!

• It’s also shown to combat menopause symptoms from weight gain to brain fog

• The heavier you go the better! But take baby steps – you’ve got your entire life to get there

All you need is 6 fundamental moves

done 2-3x week in 10-15 minutes

The 6 Fundamental Moves are...

Do each with resistance that tires in repetitions

• To Squat – e.g. to sit on a chair and stand up again

• To Pull – e..g. sawing or pulling back

• To Hinge – e.g. bend over to pick up

• To Push – e.g. press up or pushing a pram

• To lunge – e.g. step out to stop yourself fall from tripping

• To rotate – e.g. to reach for your seatbelt in the car
