As we reflect on the remarkable journey of two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Dame Kelly Holmes, we celebrate not just her extraordinary achievements but also her enduring impact as a role model and inspiration worldwide.
Dame Kelly’s story began when she joined the British Army at just 17, where she served for nearly a decade as a qualified HGV driver and Physical Training Instructor. Her dedication and service were recognised in 1998 when she was awarded an MBE by the now King Charles, honouring her contributions to the armed forces.
Her illustrious athletic career spanned 12 years, during which she claimed multiple medals at the Commonwealth, European, World, and Olympic levels. The pinnacle of her career came in 2004 at the Athens Olympic Games, where she made history as the first British woman ever to win two gold medals in a single Olympics, triumphing in the 800m and 1500m events. In recognition of her monumental achievements in sport, she was honoured with a Damehood by the late Queen Elizabeth in 2005.
In 2008, Dame Kelly founded the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, a groundbreaking initiative that pairs world-class athletes with disadvantaged youth, empowering them to realize their potential. Her philanthropic efforts have garnered numerous accolades, including the Beacon Award for Philanthropy in 2017 and the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Arthur Bell Trophy in 2023.
From 2018 to 2024, Dame Kelly held the prestigious role of Honorary Colonel of the Royal Armoured Corps Training Regiment, making history as the first individual to be attached to a regular regiment in this capacity—an appointment that required the approval of the late Queen Elizabeth.
Dame Kelly’s influence extends beyond athletics. In 2024, she received an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Psychiatrists, adding to a remarkable collection of 13 honorary degrees she has received since retiring. Her powerful documentary, “Kelly Holmes: Being Me,” aired in June 2022, showcasing her journey toward authenticity and her commitment to advocating for diversity and inclusion.

Angie Greaves is a prominent multi award winning British radio presenter known for her engaging style and significant contributions to the broadcasting industry. She began her media career in 1982 as a BBC Administrator at Television Centre and transitioned to radio in 1986, becoming the first female presenter at London’s Capital Radio. In the early 1990s, she made history as the first Black female drive-time DJ on London commercial radio.
Throughout her career, Greaves has hosted various popular radio shows, including the “Angie Greaves Breakfast Show” on Choice FM, which significantly increased the station’s listenership. She has also presented programs on BBC London Live, BBC Three Counties Radio, and Magic 105.4. Angellica Bell has been a television and radio broadcaster for over two decades and has emerged as a significant presenter of adult factual and entertainment programmes in the UK.
Angellica’s career started at the BBC in early 2000 when she became the face of Children’s BBC until she left at the end of 2007. During her time as a CBBC presenter, she was twice nominated for Best Presenter at the Children’s Baftas. Whilst working at CBBC she was best known fronting the live continuity links every afternoon on BBC1 and other nostalgic shows such as Short Change, 50/50 and The Saturday Show. Angellica made the transition to mainstream television and since then, has been known for co-presenting and reporting on The One Show (BBC1), The Chelsea Flower Show (BBC1) fronting the daytime coverage every year and the Bafta-nominated financial programme, The Martin Lewis Money Show (ITV).
Another highlight of her career was winning Celebrity MasterChef (BBC1) in 2017 which led to her publishing her first cookery book aimed at young people called Fantastic Eats and How to Cook Them! Published by Quadrille in 2019.
Angellica loves a challenge and during her career toughed it out in the Arctic for five weeks in 71 Degrees North (ITV) placing second, sailed around the British Isles on a Volvo 65 as part of a fundraising effort for The One Show raising over a million pounds for Sport Relief and in 2016, cycled and completed the L’Etape (the hardest section of The Tour de France) for Tour de Celeb (C5) giving herself only eight weeks to learn to ride a bike.
Angellica’s friendly, engaged style of narration means that she is much in demand as a voiceover artist and radio work. She loves music which covers many genres and throughout her career has interviewed an array of stars. Alongside Simon Mayo, she launched the classical music station Scala Radio where she hosted a show every Saturday and Sunday mornings 10-1pm. Within the Bauer Network, she moved to present the Saturday Breakfast Show on Magic Radio and in 2024 covered Fleur East’s maternity leave on The Hits Radio Breakfast Show. In January 2025, for two weeks she covered The Late-Night Show 10 – midnight on Radio 2.
Angellica also fronts a business focused podcast called The NatWest Business Show interviewing entrepreneurs discussing their paths to success and the hurdles they may have encountered. This is set to return later this year.

Jane started her career in fitness aged 19 when she trained as a fitness instructor whilst doing her undergraduate studies in London. She went on to do a Master of Science in Sports Management at Sheffield University where she first studied women and exercise. Her research paper looked specifically into societal factors and how poorly women were (and still are) served, when it comes to sport & exercise. She has since been on a mission to discover the best ways to bring movement to women from a health rather than aesthetics perspective.
Along the way she has generated a career in media, health and fitness as a consultant, writer, content creator and presenter. Jane has developed numerous fitness programmes and, as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, taught thousands of women through her in person and virtual studios. She started writing articles for a fitness journal in her 20’s and went on to be a writer for many women’s publications, writing the book, ‘The Ultimate Guide to Pregnancy Fitness’ in 2013.
Jane has worked as a consultant for blue chip companies – Boots, Nike, BP, American Express and created content & presented countless videos & TV shows for EMAP (Bauer Media), BBC, ITV & Discovery Health. She was the Fitness Expert on The Lorraine show/GMTV from 2011 and continues to appear on the show, giving the audience her worldly advice on all things fitness. Jane’s online studio offers numerous programmes for women including pre and postnatal, peri/menopausal programmes as well as a Women’s Strength Training Programme which she launched last year along with The Strong Sisterhood. The Strong Sisterhood is an online and in-person community offering non intimidating advice and support as well as training programmes for women. Jane also has a particular interest in the pelvic floor and has recently developed a unique programme called The Power of Your Pelvic Floor. With 1 in 3 women suffering from incontinence issues, sport & exercise has often been seen as out of bounds. Her new programme launched this year uses innovative exercises &
support systems to ensure every woman can do whatever sport or exercise they choose.
